  • What do the characters in the model number mean?

    Example: CA10H03

    • C = Charger (D=DC/DC; B=BMS; S=Charging Station)
    • A = Air-Cooled (L=Liquid-Cooled)
    • 10 = Case Style (20=Liquid Cooled platform)
    • H = High Range (250-450V) (L=Low Range 112-225V)
    • 03 = 3kW (06=6kW)
  • Does the charger operate with a BMS?

    Yes, the BC-Series chargers were designed to be BMS controlled.

  • What is SAE J1772?

    That is the standard for communication between an EVSE (Electric Vehicle Service Equipment) and the onboard EV charger on a vehicle. The SAE J1772 interface is required for a vehicle to be charged from a charging station.

  • How come the charger will not power up or communicate?

    All connectors must be present and installed for the charger to operate, as there are interlocks in the AC input, DC Output, CAN Communication and Pump/Fan/LED Cable

  • Does it have to be grounded?

    Yes. The charger must be properly grounded at all times. The ground lug is located on the front panel of the charger.’

  • Can the chargers be paralleled?

    The BC-Series chargers can be paralleled with up to 20 chargers to achieve 60kW output for faster charging. This is accomplished by simply paralleling the input, the output and the CAN cables.

  • How come the charger will not power up or communicate?

  • Does the charger need external fuses?

    Yes. There are no internal fuses to protect the output of the charger to the batteries. We recommend using 600V KLKD rated fuses. For Low Range operation (112-225) use 30A, for High Range (225-450) use 15A fuses. The fuses should be located as close to the battery pack as possible.

  • Can the software be upgraded?

    Yes. Check the website for updates or contact the factory for details.’

  • What if I am not sure how to connect the charger?

    Please reference the Current Ways User Manual. If you are still not sure, please contact the factory for assistance.

  • Are there any servicable parts in the charger?

    No. This is a sealed unit. Removing the cover will void the warranty. There are lethal voltages present within the charger. Do not attempt to open the covers at any time. Any defective units must be returned to the factory for repair. Contact the factory to get an RMA number to retun the charger.

  • Is shipping included in the charger price?

    Shipping is not included in the charger price. Please contact the factory for a shipping cost estimate. Costs may vary depending on where the charger is being shipped and how quickly you need it.

  • How are orders shipped?

    Order are shipped worldwide. Typically we use UPS and Fed-Ex, but if you have a specific carrier you would like us to use, please contact us with the shipping information.

  • May I order chargers direct from the Factory?

    Yes. Or you can order direct from one of our authorized distributors.

  • How do I pay for a charger?

    First orders are typically paid for by credit card via paypal or wire transfer. Please note that the charger will not ship until the funds have cleared our bank. You can also submit your bank and trade information for terms. Please contact Current Ways for details.

  • Do you accept credit cards for payment?

    We accept most all credit cards. Payments are processed online on secured servers by PayPal. You do not have to have a PayPal account to process a payment. Once we receive your order, we will send you an invoice from PayPal so you can enter your information and process the payment. Please contact Current Ways for details.

  • Do you have chargers in stock at all times?

    We try to keep chargers in stock at all times. Average lead-time for a charger is 4-6 weeks depending on quantity.
